The best Nantucket hotels are on the pricey side, but the accommodations are spectacular and the service is amazing. You won’t find any chain hotel or motels on the island, but you will find a variety of amazing lodging options. From luxury hotels to charming bed and breakfasts and cottage rentals, Nantucket has something for everyone.
VHN Travel Tip: Nantucket hotel rates are more affordable during the off-season. September is our favorite time to go - the island is beautiful, the weather is warm, and there are far fewer tourists!
While all of the award-winning Nantucket hotels offer breathtaking views and stunning rooms, our favorite is the Cottages and Lofts at the Boat Basin.

I can't think of a better way to experience Nantucket! Our favorite Nantucket hotel is actually a cottage on a wharf! Conveniently located in the Nantucket boat basin on Straight Wharf, Swain’s Wharf and Old South Wharf, these cozy Nantucket cottages actually sit on bleached wooden docks and offer stunning views from your private patio or deck. You’ll be steps away from the historic district, galleries, shops and restaurants. The Cottages are the perfect place for a romantic getaway or relaxing vacation.
We just spent 7 days in the Loon Cottage and it was fabulous. It's a two story Cottage with decks on each floor. It was heaven!

We always have dinner at one of Nantucket's excellent (but expensive) restaurants at least once during our stay. But we love to visit the local grocery store, only a block away from the Cottages, prepare our own dinner in our cozy kitchen and enjoy a romantic evening on our private porch or deck with spectacular views of the harbor and beyond.

For those who prefer a more remote location, the waterfront Wauwinet, located on the island's northernmost tip, offers private beaches and dramatic views of the Sound on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. Just nine miles from Nantucket Town, the Wauwinet combines the charm of a seaside cottage with the sophistication of an elegant European Inn and offers 32 guest rooms and cottages.

There are no chain hotels or motels on the island, but Nantucket has some fabulous inns and beds and breakfasts, many at much more affordable rates.
You may also want to consider Nantucket cottage rentals.
