The entire island of Nantucket has been designated a historic landmark and historic sites can be found just about everywhere you look. On this page, we'll introduce you to some of Nantucket's most popular historic attractions.
Historic sites include beautifully preserved homes and churches, a
Civil War monument, an old windmill that still grinds corn, and an old
jail that dates back to the early 1800s. All of these sites are easy to
find and appear on every walking tour map. Many of these properties
are owned by the Nantucket Historical Association and almost all of them
are open to the public.
