Nantucket Bed and Breakfasts
& Historic Inns

Many travelers prefer more intimate settings. Nantucket bed and breakfasts offer a variety of affordable options in the heart of the historic district. Most of these charming accommodations in Nantucket are located on quiet side streets and country lanes, only a short walk to the ferries, beaches, restaurants, galleries and shops.

What better way to experience this historic whaling village than to stay in the former home of sea captain? We adore these historic buildings and wanted to focus on the inns and bed and breakfasts in historic houses, but there are many other delightful choices that might be more to your liking.

Looking for ocean views?

Although most of Nantucket bed & breakfasts and historic inns are located within walking distance of the harbor, none are located on the waterfront, unlike most of the luxury hotels. If you love ocean views as much as we do, you might want to consider renting one of the cottages at Nantucket Cottages and Lofts on the harbor, which sit right over the water!

Nantucket Boat Basin

The rates are high during the summer months, but more affordable off-season, and really worth every penny. Most of the cottages come with their own full kitchen so you can save on meals and enjoy romantic dinners on your deck or patio. Also, we especially love that some of the cottages have separate bedrooms with real doors, which is a huge plus if you happen to travel with a snorer like I do!!!

Pet lovers will be delighted to know that Nantucket Cottages offer pet friendly one and two bedroom "Woof Cottages" for guests traveling with pets!

For more information, check our their website: Nantucket Cottages and Lofts

***VHN Travel Tip: Most Nantucket bed and breakfasts and historic inns do not allow pets. If you’re planning to bring your pet, be sure to check before making reservations!
